With the news this week that the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade,
many have reached out asking questions like what will it mean to lose
access to abortions and who will be impacted most. And so we wanted to
share a [ [link removed] ]new blog post from Dream Corps CEO, Nisha Anand, that looks at
how the possible decision to overturn Roe could mean higher death rates
and years of economic pain — but only for some. And she talks about why
she continues to believe that in the darkest moments of history, the best
way through is by leading with empathy and love. Please prioritize your
mental and physical health, we will be here whenever and however you want
to be involved with our work.

Hey John,

For the 6th annual Day of Empathy we wanted to do things bigger and better
than ever. After a successful Week of Impact with over 20 state
activations led by directly impacted leaders, Dream Corps set out with a
lofty goal: putting on a National summit that would bring together people
from all walks of life to inspire real action on criminal justice reform
by building empathy with advocates, state legislators, and federal
policymakers. And because of supporters like you, this year's event was a
huge success.

Among the many highlights were encouraging and uplifting conversations
with our Co-Founder Van Jones, Representative Ayanna Pressley (D-MA 7th
District), justice impacted leaders, and our many other very special
guests.

But we know that the work of building empathy across our nation doesn’t
stop after a single day of action, no matter how impactful. There are
still 8,000 incarcerated individuals we can help bring home sooner by
ending the sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine. The good
news is there is bipartisan support to do just that! Will you join Dream
Corps and Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM) for a national
call-in day to encourage our senators to pass the EQUAL Act and end unfair
sentencing practices?
