Are you protesting this weekend?

Last week, when we began asking ACLU-PA members like you to become an Abortion Care Champion, we anticipated a long and difficult fight to protect the right to abortion care in Pennsylvania and across the country that would begin with a Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization in June.

Of course, that assumption was upended on Monday night, when shocking news reports emerged about a leaked draft of an opinion, apparently supported by the majority of the court's justices, that would fully overturn Roe v. Wade.

For now, Roe remains the law of the land. But with this latest news, it's clear that our worst fears may be realized in this case.

With all this in mind, we wanted to reach out and say, "Thank you," for signing up to be an Abortion Care Champion and to encourage you to find a local protest in your community to attend this weekend. The more of us that hit the streets, the more we can demonstrate that we will not sit idly by while a handful of far-right reactionaries roll back our rights.

In addition, as an Abortion Care Champion, we'd like to invite you to have a sneak peek at the next video in our Abortion Care Champion series, featuring leading abortion care experts in Pennsylvania sharing their thoughts on what you can do in this challenging moment.
