Friend,

For my whole career, I've fought to protect access to safe, legal abortion and stop the Supreme Court from overturning Roe v. Wade. I've always believed that abortion is a personal decision that should be made by a woman and her doctor – not by the government.

And in 2018, I voted my conscience by voting against Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court, knowing it could cost me my Senate seat. But for me, there was nothing political about that choice. Because a man accused of sexual assault has no place ruling on major decisions that will impact women across the country.

Now, according to a leaked draft opinion, the ultraconservative majority on the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade – taking away women's fundamental right to make decisions about our own bodies.

This is a nightmare come true. A majority of Americans support abortion rights – and early data shows that rural Americans disagree with this decision.

That's why it's so critical to defend and expand our fragile Democratic majority in the Senate – so that we can protect abortion access nationwide.

It's no secret that the path to keeping the Senate blue runs right through rural America. We'll need to win battleground, majority-rural states and districts to protect reproductive freedom – but we won't succeed without the urgent grassroots support of folks like you. So please, I'm counting on you to chip in as much as you can spare right now:

Please, friend, will you give $5 or more now to help One Country Fund flip rural seats and districts blue so we can defend the Senate for Democrats?

Thanks for fighting with everything you've got.
