I wanted to take a moment to wish you a happy National Teacher Appreciation Week! As the son of two public school teachers, I am deeply grateful for the work that our educators put in every day. Since the pandemic, teachers have stepped up in ways beyond what is already expected of them (which is a lot), so this week, especially, I want to uplift our educators and thank them for their hard work.

Our teachers have played a vital role in supporting our students to get through many of the challenges they've faced over the past two years. From helping students adapt to online learning, assisting stressed-out parents and students, and finding creative ways to keep our children feeling welcomed and engaged at school – our teachers deserve our gratitude and support.

Before National Teacher Appreciation Week ends, please join me in showing your support for our nation's educators by signing our card to say THANK YOU! And let's recommit to fighting for policies that support our schools, students, and teachers.

From leading 100+ members in calling for American leadership to support global education, and securing over $12.5 million for rural schools in Washington state, I am incredibly proud of the work that we've done in Congress so far to support our educators. The American Rescue Plan alone provided essential resources to help our schools safely re-open and make up for learning loss.
