TAKE ACTION FOR REPRO JUSTICE
In pre-Roe v Wade America, wealthy people seeking abortions frequently travelled internationally to places where the procedure was legal, or paid top dollar to trained doctors who performed sanitary abortions for the elite domestically. Now, as then, the wealth gap is a large determining factor in who can, and who cannot, receive safe abortion care. With the upcoming expected overturning of Roe v Wade, we know that gap will only continue to grow.
As a community of young people with class privilege we know that there is no dignity in accessing something being denied to others. We give a huge appreciation to the reproductive justice leaders who remind us that collective reproductive liberation lies in the bodily autonomy of poor, working-class women, trans and non-brinary folks, and BIPOC. And, we know that on an issue this big we’re all impacted. Whether it's ourselves, our cousins, or our partners the saying is true, we all love someone who has had an abortion.
We’re highlighting several ways to take action and get in formation for this fight, with a reminder that reproductive justice organizations have been preparing for this moment and need us to show up calm, committed, and in it for the long haul:
