Hi Comrade,

As you're probably aware, the U.S. Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v Wade, the standing precedent for legal abortion in the United States. Poor and working people, minorities in particular, will suffer the most if and when this happens. Abortion is health care, and we need your help to protect the fundamental right for an individual to choose what happens with their pregnancy.

Ohio has two bills that could quickly be passed to ban abortion in the state should Roe be overturned. But this doesn't have to be inevitable.

Right now, you can click here to easily send a letter to your Ohio lawmakers and tell them not to pass HB598 and SB123. When you're done, you can click here to quickly send additional letters to your U.S. Congress people telling them to pass new legislation to formally legalize abortion in the country.

In the near future, we encourage you to attend a rally to make your voice heard. To physically occupy space and to show that you support legal abortion.

• Akron DSA is also holding a rally on Sunday May 22nd at 3:30 p.m. in downtown Akron. In addition to support for legal abortion, we will be rallying against Ohio the regressive HBs 616 and 327, which attempt to erase gay and trans people as well as the voices and struggles of minorities. We know that these are scary times. It's important that we come together to support each other and to support those who cannot take action. We hope to see at both of these events if you can make it. You can also donate directly to Akron DSA to help support our cause.
