Back in February 2020, then-candidate Biden told New Hampshire voters his position on fracking for oil and gas on federal lands:

“And by the way, no more drilling on federal lands, period.”

But just a few weeks ago, President Biden announced plans, yet again, to open even more public land to drilling. The hypocrisy is glaring.

The president’s plan for continued drilling only locks us into decades more air and water pollution, rapidly rising greenhouse gas emissions, and the destruction of public lands and waters. We can’t – and we won’t – let this stand, especially at a time when the climate crisis demands that we rapidly move off fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy.

Urge President Biden to follow through on his campaign promise: No more drilling on public lands!

President Biden is currently on track to approve more drilling on public lands than any president since George W. Bush. Food & Water Watch will keep fighting until President Biden uses his executive authority to end the era of fossil fuels – and that means halting drilling and fracking on federal lands!

Tell President Biden to take executive action to protect the planet from further climate disaster, and start by banning fracking on public lands.
