Friend,?

It's been another busy week on the campaign trail with multiple dinners, forums, and meetings. We are now less than eight weeks out from the June 28th Primary Election. With more and more voters starting to pay attention, expect the dynamics of the race to change rapidly.?

If $100M fell from the sky into the laps of each Republican candidate running for Illinois Governor, we would still be the only team that defeats JB Pritzker.? That's because to win in Illinois you have to be able to do three things:? 1) unify the Republican Party; 2) get crossover votes; and 3) survive the character assassination campaign that we all know is coming from the Democrats. ?

If you'd like to meet us on the trail or attend one of our fundraisers, you can check out our upcoming events by clicking HERE <[link removed]>.

Volunteer of the Week

Our volunteer to highlight this week is Chuck Borchsenius. Chuck is a long-time board member in LaSalle County.? He and his son Gabe run the famous Norway Store on Route 71.? In addition to posting and distributing our signs, Chuck has also been kind enough to endorse us.? Thank you, Chuck, not only for your support, but also for your friendship!

Candidate Forums

We are still receiving positive feedback from the governor candidate forum in Tazewell County.? If you'd like to watch the entire forum, you can do so by clicking HERE <[link removed]>.?

We believe that if you can't face the voters and your fellow candidates in a forum, you don't have what it takes to face the Democrats in Springfield.? The next forum we are scheduled to attend will be in St. Clair County on May 14th.?

Issue Discussion:? More Legal Protection for Cops

Like it or not, we have hate crimes laws on the books in Illinois.? If you target an individual because of their membership in a protected group, criminal penalties are enhanced.? If we are going to have this enhanced protection framework, no group is more deserving of increased protection than law enforcement (to include corrections officers) and first responders.???

Putting our society's full support behind our law enforcement heroes is one part of making our families and communities safer.? That's why we have included this additional protection as one of the six pillars in our "New Start for Illinois" policy agenda.

Thanks for reading this e-blast.? We hope that the rest of your week goes well and we look forward to seeing you on the trail.

S/F,

Paul
