Did you see the news? The Atlantic just called Derrick Van Orden, Majorie Taylor Greene, and other similar extremist candidates part of the Wackadoodle Wave, saying these people are part of a dangerous new wave of extremist Republican candidates.
Folks, we cannot sugarcoat this. In November 2020, Derrick Van Orden lost to Ron Kind by the narrowest of margins – just over 10,000 votes out of nearly 400,000 ballots cast. That’s insane that someone like him could come so close to holding power.
Our democracy is on the line. Brad is running against someone who continues to insist there was rampant voter fraud in the 2020 election. Even Trump’s own officials have called America’s “most secure” election in history. Will you donate $5 right now and help us defeat extremism?
Not only calling Brad’s opponent part of the Wackadoodle Wave, the Atlantic also said Van Orden is an extreme, erratic politician in the mold of Majorie Taylor Greene. When you’re being compared to Majorie Taylor Greene, you know you’re doing something wrong.
As the GOP continues to nominate more and more extremist candidates up and down the ballot, we shudder to think of this election year being remembered as the Wackadoodle Wave. But that is the direction we’re going in.
Think about this: Kevin McCarthy, Majorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Madison Cawthorne will no longer be the outliers in Congress – they’ll be the majority. That’s scary.
