Dear John,
Being a mom is one of the most rewarding experiences in life, but it can also be overwhelming at times. The last two years have been hard on everyone, but for so many moms the burden of the pandemic has been overwhelming. New stressors and challenges have continued to come up as we adapt to this new reality, but imagine all of that on top of caring for your child and making difficult decisions on how to pay for child care and basic necessities.
Not all superheroes wear capes, but we know many have incredible powers and answer the call “mom.” It’s never been more clear, moms are truly everyday superheroes.
We know it takes a village to raise a child, but not every mom has that kind of support in her life. The new moms we serve in our doula and home visiting programs live in under-resourced communities while working hard to make a better life for themselves and their children. These moms are with their children every step of the way providing love and support, but they need our help. |
