In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to contribute to our re-election campaign. But before I do, I want to give you an update on one of my top priorities in Congress – expanding broadband internet access across Virginia.

I know having reliable access to high-speed internet is key in closing opportunity gaps in our economy and education system and in improving life for people in VA-07 – which is why I work hard to support broadband internet expansion.

Last year, I was proud to vote for the American Rescue Plan which allowed Virginia to pursue universal broadband internet access for everyone across our Commonwealth, and I took pride in getting the bipartisan infrastructure package across the finish line to make sure we finally close our country’s digital divide.

I am working hard to ensure all our communities – rural and urban – have access to broadband internet. No one should be without a connection online, and I’m driven to solve this issue.

And with the signing of these two transformative laws, Virginia can fund broadband internet expansion to the communities that need it most. With my action in Congress, we’re working to update coverage maps to illustrate gaps and ensure no one is left out of the picture.
