FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is Summer of 1776? Summer of 1776 is Congressman Dan Crenshaw’s annual Independence Day Celebration and the most patriotic party in America. A salute to all the things that make America the greatest country on Earth to LIVE FREE AND PARTY: live music, fireworks, family games, swim activities, festive food, and ice-cold drinks. This year, we’re bringing the celebration to Starshine Texas – a 25-acre outdoor, recreational venue located in the heart of Humble, Texas. Starshine is home to a hillside concert arena, a lake, picnic areas, a luxurious clubhouse, and a playground for children. What to expect? Doors open for General Admission ticket holders at 4:00pm. Enjoy the family-friendly games and swimming activities, food trucks, and cash bars with beer and patriotic refreshments available for purchase. Attendees may bring their own lawn chairs and shade umbrellas and claim a spot in one of the designated areas near the concert stage or utilize the limited number of first-come, first-serve picnic tables. All General Admission areas are outdoors – shady areas, cooling misters, and tents will be around for folks who want a break from the Sun. VIP ticket holders will have access to the indoor clubhouse (see below for more information about VIP tickets). The live concert begins at 5:30pm with country music artist Shane Profitt. At 7:00pm, chart-topping country music singer Chris Janson - with hit songs like “Buy Me A Boat”, “Good Vibes”, and “Fix A Drink” - takes the stage for an all-American show country music performance. At 8:30pm, the epic fireworks show commences. Following the end of the fireworks show around 9:00pm, we will have a nighttime DJ show for everyone who wants to dance and keep the good times rolling! What do VIP tickets include? In addition to access to all General Admission areas, VIP ticket holders have access to the indoor, air-conditioned clubhouse with first-come, first-serve lounge and table seating, a catered buffet, a cash bar with premium beer, wine and cocktails, and clubhouse balcony views of the concert stage. VIP ticket holders also receive early access to the venue beginning at 3:00pm (General Admission ticket holders may enter beginning at 4:00pm). [email protected] or call 281-888-4016. Are children allowed to attend Summer of 1776? All ages are welcome! Our children’s play area has a lot of fun games and activities to keep them entertained. However, after the fireworks show ends around 9pm the nighttime DJ show will be loud and better suited for the 21+ crowd. Do children have to pay to attend? Children under the age of 10 may attend for free but they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please enter the number of children under the age of 10 accompanying you in the checkout form on Eventbrite. Everyone else must pay the full ticket price for General Admission or VIP. Should I bring a swimsuit? Swimsuits are definitely recommended if you plan to float or swim in the lake. We will also have a slip 'n slide for kids to enjoy. What is the registration process like? Simple! General Admission (GA) and VIP tickets are available for purchase at our Eventbrite link. Eventbrite will email your tickets. Please save your tickets and bring them to the event. We will scan your ticket’s QR code to verify it and you’ll be given a GA or VIP wristband. The wristband will allow you to come and go from the event as you please. [email protected]. What’s the parking situation like? Park for free at our nearby offsite parking location (to be announced soon) and ride one of the complimentary, air-conditioned shuttles to Starshine Texas. Parking will not be available on-site at Starshine Texas. What is the shuttle service schedule? Shuttles will begin running from the offsite parking lot to Starshine at approximately 2:40pm. Expect shuttle buses to run between Starshine and the parking location approximately every 5 - 7 minutes. These times are subject to change. Can we use Uber or another rideshare service to reach Starshine? Yes! We highly recommend using a rideshare service. We will have a designated zone at Starshine for ridesharing and anyone who wants to be picked up/dropped off by a friend or relative. Will there be seating? Summer of 1776 is a festival-style celebration. Lawn seating is first-come, first-serve with the event being standing room only. If you want to get comfortable on the lawn, we recommend bringing your lawn chair and/or picnic blanket. A limited number of outdoor picnic tables will be available first-come, first-serve for General Admission ticket holders. VIP ticket holders will have access to the VIP Clubhouse with a limited number of first-come, first-serve tables and lounge seating. Are pets allowed at Starshine Texas? Starshine Texas does not permit pets on property. Exceptions are made for registered service animals. Can I bring my own food and alcohol? Outside food and beverages are not allowed in Starshine Texas. General Admission ticketholders will have access to a variety of food trucks along with cash bars serving beer and non-alcoholic refreshments. VIP ticketholders will have access to the catered buffet inside the Clubhouse. Are firearms or weapons permitted at the event? All weapons, including concealed firearms, are prohibited at this event and on the premises of Starshine Texas.
