News from Representative Allred

Dear Friend,

North Texas is home to so many world-class small businesses that are critical to our region’s economy and identity. Yesterday, I held a roundtable discussion with local small business owners to hear directly from them about the challenges they are facing and how I can continue to support them in Congress. I know the past two years have been tough for small business owners, and yesterday, I heard from them about how, even on the road to recovery, they are met with challenges like hiring, retention, supply-chain disruptions and inflationary pressures.

In Congress, I have been working to lower costs for North Texans, combat inflation and create an economy that allows small businesses and their employees to thrive. At the height of the pandemic, I helped pass the American Rescue Plan which created lifeline programs like the Paycheck Protection Program, the Restaurant Revitalization Fund and the Shuttered Venues Operators Grant so that our small businesses could keep their doors open. I recently helped pass the America Competes Act in the House to help shore up supply chain issues and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to create jobs and boost the economy. And I will keep fighting to ensure our small businesses can thrive and continue to create jobs.

Earlier this year, I brought SBA administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman to North Texas to meet with small business owners and demonstrate the vital role small businesses play in our economy and learn how we can help our businesses continue to recover from the pandemic.

I will continue to assist our small businesses in any way I can, whether that is helping with any SBA issues or passing legislation that benefits the small businesses that power our local economy.

If you or a small business owner needs help dealing with the SBA or a pandemic-relief program, please contact my office (972) 972-7949, we are here to help.

Sincerely,
