In case you missed it, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp just signed yet another extremist, GOP-wishlist bill into law.

Just like the bill signed by Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, this latest bill dubbed the “Protect Students First Act,” also limits discussions about race in classrooms. It seems, however, that the only thing this bill is protecting is Kemp and the entire GOP’s discomfort with acknowledging our country’s history of racism.

This is not surprising in the least — Kemp made it clear from the beginning that he would be a constant mouthpiece for the most extreme wings of the GOP. Under his leadership, Georgia has passed laws to jail women for seeking abortions, ban transgender children from playing sports, allow unlicensed guns into our schools, and has led an unprecedented attack on voting rights. This is what we are up against here in Georgia.
