Yesterday, a poll from the University of Texas at Austin highlighted what we know to be true: a majority of Texans support access to abortion. 78% said they believe abortion rights ought to be protected -- while only 15% said it ought to be outlawed in all circumstances.

Friend, conservative extremists in our courts, our congress, and our legislatures would like you to believe that access to safe abortion is divisive. But it’s clear that’s not true. It’s time that our laws reflect what Americans truly believe.

I know you have been inundated over the last few days with all the ways you can fight back. So I’ll say, first and foremost, we need to support the advocates on the ground who are at the center of our fight for choice. Here’s how you take action:

But if we want to secure the fundamental right to safe abortion, we need leaders at the federal level fighting to make abortion the law of the land. So will you chip in $7 right now to elect progressive change-makers that will take this fight to Congress?

Friend, this is such a scary time as other essential freedoms may soon be at stake. This isn’t the time to back down -- now more than ever it’s time to rise to the challenge. We can achieve anything, but only if we do it together.
