When I decided to run for office, I was told that I couldn't do it. Not because this seat isn’t flippable. Not because of my commitment to progressive values. Friend, I was told that I couldn’t run because I didn't have a contact list full of wealthy friends to fund my campaign.
But I didn't listen. I don't think there should be an admission fee to participate in our democracy, and I'm betting you don't either. And because we pulled together and didn’t listen to the naysayers, last cycle we shattered grassroots fundraising records, and now we just need 2.5 more points to finish what we started and turn NY-24 blue in 2020.
We can do this. But building the kind of campaign that we know we need to win and replace corporate lap-dog John Katko with a bold, progressive woman who will work relentlessly to get big money out of politics is going to take every single one of us doing our part.
I'm asking, please act right now and give $5, $10, $24, or the most generous amount you can to help meet our end-of-month goal of $11,647 from grassroots donors before November 30. Can I count on you?
