Our work ahead is clear: We need to elect pro-choice women this November to make sure that we continue to have champions for abortion rights in Minnesota’s State Capitol.
We cannot take this fight for granted. Just this week, anti-choice legislators, emboldened by the draft Supreme Court opinion, tried to pass two anti-abortion amendments on the Minnesota House floor. And earlier this session, they introduced an extreme ban on abortion, similar to what we saw in Texas, which would allow the ban to be enforced by private citizens. We know their attempts to strip Minnesotans of their rights to safe, legal abortion won’t stop.
We need our best advocates - pro-choice women - in the legislature, fighting to protect access to safe, legal abortion. But this fight is going to be tough. That’s why we are alongside candidates every step of the way to make sure they have the support they need to run — at no cost to them.
