John, across the globe, we are seeing the impact of climate change in real-time . India and Pakistan are in the midst of a long heat wave with an alarming intensity:
[link removed] [[link removed]]The average maximum temperatures in northern India reached their highest last month in 122 years, reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit. At its peak, New Dehli experienced seven consecutive days with temperature highs at 104 Fahrenheit.
The results of this heatwave have created untenable living conditions. Because of extreme heat, crops are dying, power outages are constant, and access to transportation and public school varies daily. Make no mistake: this is what the world looks like when a climate crisis approaches the point of no return.
On a particularly tragic note, it’s clear those most affected are not the same people with the power to turn the tide on climate.
That power lies with our governments and our elected officials. SEEC members understand that Congress and governments worldwide have a duty to their citizens to act quickly on climate. They know: This latest heatwave in India and Pakistan is not a warning shot, but the beginning of a prolonged pattern of extreme heat if no comprehensive action is taken.
SEEC members are working to push forward meaningful, substantive action on climate. They understand who feels the consequences and that saving our Earth is a time-sensitive mission. Will you contribute to their work to stop extreme heat and ensure comprehensive action on the climate crisis, John? [[link removed]]

Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
