[1]Women's March
Five years, John.
That’s how long it’s been since the first Women’s March on Washington,
when we came together for the single biggest day of protest in the history
of our country. Our women-led movement rose up to reject Donald Trump and
his cruel administration, and we won.
Together, we’ve shown that when we turn our rage into action we can move
mountains – and that is exactly what we need to do right
now, John.
Abortion, our fundamental right to self-determination, is under direct
attack. The Supreme Court has just released a draft opinion confirming our
worst fears: Roe v. Wade is on the brink of being overturned.
We’re calling on our most dedicated Women’s March supporters, like you, to
join us in the streets and demand: “Bans Off Our Bodies.” In partnership
with Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Ultraviolet, and MoveOn, we
will mobilize on May 14, 2022 and let the world know we will not take this
attack on our rights silently.

march on Saturday, May 14 and fight back against abortion bans?

This draft opinion is just the beginning. The Supreme Court will announce
their official decision on abortion rights in June. Once that happens, 26
states could move quickly to ban abortion, meaning millions of people –
over half the country – could live without local access to abortion care.
Until then, we have a lot of work to do – and we have to start now.
Over the past 5 years we’ve made it clear that women, especially women of
color, are the driving force behind systemic change and political power in
our country. Everyday women are everything in this fight, and we have to
meet this moment with courage, determination, and love for our fellow
women and community members.
John, you’re a
critical part of our movement and we’re beyond grateful to have you on our
team, especially during this historic moment. As a Women’s March
supporter, we need you to join a mobilization in your community and send a
clear message: we will not accept anything less than our right to
determine our futures on our own timelines.
