The headlines in the news aren’t telling the full story. On one hand, Wall Street is reaching record high profits, turning more and more millionaires into billionaires.

On the other hand, more family farms are going bankrupt. Loan delinquencies are sky-rocketing. Farmer suicides are on the rise.

Our rural communities are suffering; the very people who grow our food, power our country, and clothe our kids are bearing the brunt of our trade wars, a half-decade of low-commodity prices, and abuses to the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Politicians seem to have forgotten about us. We are not given a seat at the table, and decisions are made without us in mind. People are fed up.

The person who is meant to represent our interests, Steve King, is not allowed on any committee in the House, rendering his position useless and leaving Iowa’s 4th district without a voice in Washington.

That is not right.
