Team,
As we approach Mother’s Day, we’re thinking of the undocumented people who won’t be able to spend the holiday with their loved ones.
For the children who may be separated from their parents, or the mothers who fear for the future of their children while living undocumented — Mother’s Day can be a bittersweet celebration for many.
But for many undocumented families, the DACA program has been a life changing development.
When United We Dream took a survey of DACA recipients, more than 68% reported they were worried about being separated from their children because of deportation or not being able to see their children grow up.
Thanks to their DACA status, 25% reported that increased earnings have helped them take care of an elderly parent, while 38% reported that it’s helped pay for child care expenses.
DACA might be temporary, but its impact on the lives of so many undocumented mothers and their children is undeniable. So ahead of this Mother’s Day, we are refueling our DACA Application Fund to make the renewal process easier and more affordable for applicants.
Will you make a donation to our DACA Application Fund and support undocumented families today? 100% of your contribution will go toward covering the $495 cost of DACA renewal fees.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for supporting undocumented people and DACA recipients, today and always.
Luz, United We Dream
