In 2018, we had a vision: engage, educate, and empower Muslim Americans during the 2020 presidential elections. Through the grace of Allah, our partnerships across the United States, and, because of supporters like you, we changed the trajectory of our country and put Muslim American voters on the map. We helped turn out over one million Muslim American voters during the 2020 presidential elections. |
That is why this past Monday was so special for us.
President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and Second Gentleman Douglass Emhoff addressed our community recognizing our integral role in this nation, and additionally, the work that must continue to be done to improve the lives and well-being of Muslim American communities both here and abroad. |

“Today, around the world, we’ve seen so many Muslims that have been targeted by violence. No one, no one should discriminate against or be oppressed, or be repressed, for their religious beliefs…We have to acknowledge that an awful lot of work remains to be done, abroad and here at home. Muslims make our nation stronger every single day, even as they still face real challenges and threats in our society, including targeted violence and Islamophobia," said President Joe Biden at the 2022 White House Eid celebration.

We thank President Biden for recognizing the accomplishments of the Muslim community - discussing the appointments of the first Muslim to serve as Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom and the first Muslim American ever to be confirmed to the federal bench. President Biden went on to acknowledge the ongoing struggle of the Uyghurs, Rohingya, and all those who are facing oppression, persecution, and violence around the globe.

Monday represented recognition for the years we have worked with and worked for our community. It represented those “firsts” which paved the way for us have the platform we do today and the progress we’ve made over the last five years in supporting Muslim Americans to run for office, serve in the administration, serve on capitol hill, march, rally, and invest in our mission. We find it imperative to acknowledge and honor ALL of our community leaders, respecting those who chose not to attend this function as well as those who did. We recognize our organizational leaders that work to dismantle systems of injustice, and those who seek to build new, transformative justice-oriented spaces for our communities.
We pray that there is baraka (blessings) and tawfīq (divinely ordained success) in all of our endeavors and that Allah allows our works to become actualized in making positive difference in peoples’ lives. We hope and pray that this Ramadan Allah accepted all of your prayers. May you and your loved ones continue to have His blessings bestowed upon on you. |
