Communication Interrupted: Why Does One in Twelve U.S. Children Have a Communication Disorder?
By the Children's Health Defense Team
National studies suggest that the proportion of U.S. children with speech and language disorders is rising. Depending on the survey, the proportion has grown by anywhere from 26% to 56%. Moreover, speech and language problems frequently layer on top of other childhood-onset disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), suspected of having environmental causes.
The scientific literature points to numerous environmental factors likely to be contributing, singly or in combination, to the development of ASD—including pesticides, plasticizers, glyphosate and heavy metals, especially aluminum used in vaccines as adjuvant. There is every reason to suspect that these toxins could also be contributing to speech and language delays.

Lena Sun, the Washington Post’s Resident Vaccine Propagandist
By Jeremy R. Hammond, Guest Contributor
Jeremy R. Hammond routinely documents in his articles how the mainstream media serve the state by doing public vaccine policy advocacy rather than journalism. The corporate media serve the function of manufacturing consent for government policy by systematically lying to the public about what science tells us about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
As an illustrative example of a professional vaccine propagandist, take Washington Post health reporter Lena H. Sun. Ms. Sun is a faithful adherent to the vaccine religion and susceptible to confirmation bias, which entails choosing what to see and what not to see, thereby deliberately deceiving readers in dutiful service to the state and, by extension, dutiful service to the pharmaceutical industry.

Lakewood, NJ: Failure to Vaccinate or Vaccine Failure?
By Justin Steiner, Guest Contributor
In Lakewood, NJ, where most of the NJ measles cases occurred, there were 30 documented cases of measles in Ocean County early last winter. Everyone recovered without incident and no serious complications were reported, but the Lakewood “outbreak” made national news and was used to amplify fears over what is a generally benign virus and create panic both within the community and throughout the state.
As winter approaches this year, it’s worth reviewing the facts on the ground and noting that by not following evidence-based practices state and county officials spread the measles, hurt families, scarred children and created the illusion that those who question vaccines are disease ridden.
It is time to expand the conversation regarding vaccines beyond the initiatives that seek to vaccinate every person without consideration for individual needs and beliefs.

Update on the Sacramento Seven
Many of you watched along with us at CHD as seven dedicated advocates for medical freedom were arrested on September 9 of this year, day 7 of the 11-day “Occupy the California Capital” event in protest of SB 276 and SB 714.
Thursday, November 21st, all seven appeared along with supporters at the Sacramento County Court. The attorney for the six women arrested informed them that no charges were being filed against them for their actions on September 9. Mike Mattingly was the only one to stand before the judge as he was charged with one count of resisting arrest. His court date is on January 16 and he intends to plead not guilty.
