Widening the Environmental Movement
How can we make the environmental movement more accessible and inclusive. ?A new non-profit organization, Eco.Logic, works towards this goal by infusing community-building and creativity into their programs. The founding Executive Director, Rozina Kanchwala, will talk about how they are trying out various programs that aim to lower the barrier of entry into the environmental movement because, as the impacts of climate change are only getting more severe, everyone is needed. ?Rozina will speak about Eco.Logic's programs, including its successes and lessons-learned, as they have sought to widen the environmental movement.
Speaker:
Rozina is an energy and environmental professional with 15 years of global academic and work experience. She is a Fulbright scholar; she spent a year in India studying agrarian distress and then completed her Masters degree in Environment and Sustainable Development at University College London. She currently serves as the Director of Energy Justice Partnerships at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) and is the founding Executive Director of Eco.Logic.
Also, Charles Forbes, Fairfax County Dept of Public Works, will join us at our meeting to give us an update on the Fairfax County composting pilot project at farmers markets. ?
