White House May Not View Striking Down Roe as Legitimate
Curtis Houck of Newbusters: Jen Psaki refuses to explicitly answer say whether the Biden administration would accept a SCOTUS ruling striking down Roe v. Wade as “legitimate.” She also laments how abortions of Asians, Blacks, and Hispanics babies would plummet ( Twitter). RedState: Psaki’s response was to not answer the question directly at all. She didn’t say “no.” She didn’t say “yes.” Instead, she alleged things would take a dire turn for women in at least “half” the states in America in response to the possible ruling and then later lied in suggesting that “we don’t know the validity” of the leaked SCOTUS draft majority opinion, even though Chief Justice John Roberts confirmed the authenticity of the document in a statement released Tuesday ( RedState). Psaki took it a step further by refusing to denounce the leak itself ( Twitter). Katie Pavlich: Speaking to reporters at the White House Wednesday afternoon, Press Secretary Jen Psaki refused to condemn the unprecedented leak of a draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade from the Supreme Court this week. The breach inflamed the legal world and put the institution’s integrity at risk ( Townhall).

In Response to SCOTUS, Amazon Offers $4,000 In Travel Expenses to Cover Abortion
From the story: Online retail giant Amazon.com took a firm stance Monday pushing against a prevailing Republican-led push to restrict access to abortion, telling its staff that it would pay up to $4,000 in travel expenses for non-life threatening medical treatments that include abortion. The move comes as a leaked Supreme Court opinion suggests the conservative-leaning court may opt to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark law that makes abortion legal. Amazon told its employees that the new work benefit would apply to an employee if an operation could not be done within 100 miles of their home and virtual care is not accessible. That will be put in place for all corporate and warehouse employees or covered dependents enrolled in the company’s Premera or Aetna health plans ( USA Today).

Today Is National Day of Prayer
George Washington: I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have the United States in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the Characteristicks of the Devine Author of our blessed Religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation. Amen ( Mount Vernon). Resources: National Day of Prayer. Jim Daly: The Bible says, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power.” So remember to pray. God will hear you—and that’s a promise ( Townhall Review).
