With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I need to ask for your support. If you are in a position to give, Lucinda and her 2-year-old son need your help.

Lucinda is 30 years old and cares for her 2-year-old son completely on her own. This was never the plan. Lucinda moved to Melbourne in 2019 with her husband at the time, and fell pregnant shortly after. She was excited to start a family and a new life here in the city. But, shortly after giving birth to her son, Lucinda found herself in a family violence situation, which included verbal and emotional abuse and control, intimidation, isolation, and financial abuse. Her support network is extremely limited, as most of her family and friends are not in Australia. She was scared, alone, and had no one to turn to.

With an immense amount of courage, Lucinda finally separated from her husband in late 2021. Recently, Lucinda began working part time to maintain safe housing. But her needs are still great, and Lucinda is struggling to provide essential items for her son. 

We really need your help today. Will you stand beside Lucinda and her son by making a donation to our Make a Mother's Day Appeal so we can provide them with all the basic essentials they need?  

Unfortunately, Lucinda's story is all too common. 34% of cases we support are experiencing family violence. Today alone we have 33 new cases that we need your help to provide for. We are asking for your financial support so that we can continue providing essentials free of charge, without question to mums like Lucinda who really need a helping hand.
