#GivingTuesday 🦃

([link removed])

Mark your calendars for December 3rd because Giving Tuesday is right around the corner! After enjoying a restful Thanksgiving holiday, please show up to help make the promise of America a reality for children and young people across the country. At America’s Promise Alliance, we are always working to help better the lives and futures of young people through our five promises (caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education, and opportunities to serve). But, we can’t do it alone: your gift to America’s Promise helps us continue this important work to give every child and young person a real shot at achieving their American Dream.

Congratulations to the Power Of Youth Winners!

([link removed])

This Thanksgiving week, America’s Promise Alliance is announcing 10 winners in the Power of Youth Challenge ([link removed]), which provided $1,000 grants to these young people to identify a challenge in their own community, devise a solution, and carry out their own service projects around the country. The winners were selected from among 86 applicants who responded to the challenge and received initial $250 grants to carry out their projects over six months. From bringing “blue smiles” to children in hospitals to bring awareness to the psychological impact of cancer to helping reduce the use of single-use plastics contributing to plastic pollution in Hawaii, the Power of Youth winners are all exceptional young people giving back to their communities.

This challenge was made possible by a generous grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and by the youth leaders at Peacefirst who chose the 10 winning projects. Stay tuned for year two of the Challenge!
