Coloradans are opposed to Jena Griswold and SB22-153
Greenwood Village, Colorado - Colorado GOP Chairwoman Kristi Burton Brown released the following statement today after receiving over 3,800 signature petitions of Coloradans opposed to SB22-153:
The Colorado GOP will be sending the list of names and zip codes of those who stood up and voiced support for the defeat of this legislation to Speaker Garnett and Senate President Stephen Fenberg:
"Let me be clear: Coloradans are opposed to this blatant power grab by partisan hack Jena Griswold. This legislation is a bold attempt to weaponize the Secretary of State's office and centralize control over our elections in the hands of one individual in Denver. Coloradans need to have full confidence in our elections. Taking power away from local officials and centralizing it in the state is the opposite of what Coloradans want. Over 3,800 Coloradans signed our petition demanding the defeat of this legislation. I urge the legislature to listen to the people and vote NO on this blatant power grab."
