The 2022-23 legislative session is in full swing and NPH is working on advancing our legislative priorities!

Recently Added Co-Sponsored Bill: Assemblymember Buffy Wicks recently introduced AB 2011, the Affordable Housing & High Road Jobs Act. AB 2011 will use underutilized commercial areas for affordable housing and ensure these projects grow blue-collar, middle-class construction jobs in every community.

Show your support for more affordable housing production by using our quick and easy pre-filled letter template to submit a support letter to the California Legislature today:

May is Affordable Housing Month!

Affordable Housing Month has officially begun!

We invite you to join us: Attend inspiring and community-driven regional events with fellow housers and use the resources below to amplify our collective message of housing and racial justice in the Bay Area for vibrant, healthy, and thriving communities.

  • Social Media Toolkit: Use these messages to spread the word about #AffordableHousingMonth on your social channels.

  • “Letter to Your Representative” Tool: Let’s urge our lawmakers to prioritize affordable housing! More pressure and more voices mean better outcomes for our advocacy work.

  • Regional Events: Here are the innovative and energizing regional events hosted by our members and partners throughout the Bay Area. Psst… NPH is hosting a special fireside chat with former Mayor of Stockton Michael Tubbs! Details coming soon!

Check out these upcoming trainings that you don’t want to miss:

  • Housing Elements: Digital Organizing Tools and Tactics Training, Tuesday, May 17, 12-1PM + Thursday, May 26, 12-1PM
As communities across the state undergo their Housing Elements advocacy, we’ll need a variety of digital organizing tools to jumpstart collective action toward homes for all. This session will help advocates reach residents, empowering their ability to shape our region, and lift up community-driven planning for an inclusive Bay Area.

  • ELPN: Insurance 101, Wednesday, June 1, 11AM-1PM
Join the Emerging Leaders Peer Network (ELPN) and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. for Insurance 101, a virtual Brown Bag where we’ll review the risks covered by different types of insurance, which ones you need to protect your project, what goes into determining your insurance bill, and how you can make absolutely sure you have the insurance coverage you thought you had!
