On Monday, a draft opinion was leaked from the Supreme Court that would, if officially issued, overturn two landmark cases that safeguarded the right to access abortions: Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood. The scope of the draft opinion is breathtaking, and shows just how radical the conservative Right is when it comes to women's bodily autonomy and their ability to make personal and private medical decisions.
The consequences of such a decision would have many devastating impacts on women in need of prenatal health care. Colorado must remain a safe place for women to get the care they need.
To that end, the Colorado Turnout Project fits in to this equation in the following way: we will work, relentlessly, to punish the anti-choice Republicans currently in office in Colorado: Ken Buck, Doug Lamborn, and of course, Lauren Boebert. Each and every one of them has worked to enable the dangerous strain of extremism that took over the Republican Party.
We will work to push any Republicans here to denounce pro-life extremism in their party. And we will seek political retribution by electing pro-choice fighters in place of extremists.
