Let’s be clear, team: While abortion is still legal on the federal level, this week a Supreme Court draft decision leaked fully overturning Roe v. Wade and putting the lives of pregnant people — especially Black, Brown, and Indigenous folks — across the country at risk.

This was always the end goal of the GOP’s calculated attacks on reproductive rights in recent decades, from passing extreme law after law banning or heavily restricting abortion at the state level, to electing Donald Trump so he could stack the Court with ultraconservative, anti-abortion judges willing to reject decades of precedent and the overwhelming majority of public opinion.

All the while, despite claiming to be “pro-life,” Republicans actively oppose policies that directly support children and their families:

	So the Republican Party supports forcing women to give birth against their will, but opposes providing childcare, paid leave or healthcare. Got it.

Ilhan is working day in and day out to make sure that Roe v. Wade is enshrined in law, fighting for family-focused policies like universal school meals, paid leave, and an expanded Child Tax Credit, and pushing for the end of the Senate filibuster to ensure that each of these policies can become reality.

But she’s up against several anti-choice opponents who want to ban abortions and prop up corporations at the expense of children and families. At this critical moment, we need to fight back and raise the resources necessary to win, which is why we’re reaching out with an urgent ask:
