Hi John,
Get ready, because See Yourself Running: Asian American/Pacific Islander Candidates is happening TODAY.
I'm newer to the Run for Something team, so for those who don't know me yet, I'm Paul, Southern Regional Director. I’m a lifelong southerner, proud son of an Asian immigrant, and have enthusiastically entered into the Asian Pacific American Organizing and Advocacy space. I also serve in a leadership role in the Georgia Democratic Party AAPI Caucus. I'm excited to be moderating tonight's event along with Aamina Ahmed from the New American Leaders Action Fund.
And that's not all — tonight, we're bringing in some AAPI Run for Something alums to talk about their experiences:
- Columbia (SC) City Councilmember At-Large Dr. Aditi Bussells
- Candidate for Dublin (OH) City Council, Ward 1 Ajmeri Hoque
- Portland (ME) Charter Commissioner At-Large Marpheen Chann
- Kansas State Representative, District 25 Rui Xu
They'll be sharing stories from their time running for office and answering any and all the burning questions you have about running as an AAPI future candidate, so get excited!
If you're a young progressive identifying as AAPI, you can't miss tonight's event. Even if you're not set on running for office, we want to see you at See Yourself Running TONIGHT at 8 p.m. ET.
See you tonight,
Paul Kim Bradfield
