Friends,
The Washington Post released an opinion piece highlighting the public suggestion by one of the leading Minnesota gubernatorial candidates that I should “go to jail” because he somehow objects to my management of Minnesota’s elections.
The WaPo article concluded that this episode is truly bizarre - but also dangerous.
This is why it’s critical that my campaign has the resources to fight back against disinformation. We need to cut through the lies and correct the record right away.
Team, can you help us this week? We still need to raise another $6,500. Will you chip in now?

The Washington Post observed:
“...if any state were immune from the . . . attempt to turn voting into a venomous culture war issue, it might have been Minnesota. It’s often considered the most civic-minded state in the county, and usually has very high rates of voter turnout.”
While they're right that Minnesota’s elections are secure and fair, and that we have one of the highest turnouts in the country, we are not immune to disinformation activists peddling bizarre and false information to rile up their base. The stakes are high, since “power is on a knife edge” in Minnesota, with closely contested races across the ballot.
You have my word that I will continue to ensure our elections are fair and secure but the disinformation noise is going to get louder.
Thanks,
Steve
