Friend,
My campaign is based on principle, backed by policy. Not only have I spoken of these “two P’s” at public events and in the media but I have also written op-eds on them. I have been honored to have the opportunity to express how we can unite our nation and convene the world toward our collective good on the Presidential campaign trail, and below are a few opinion articles I’ve published while doing so, from geopolitical issues and accountable leadership to climate change and labor force training and re-training. You can read a few below:
- "To fully understand why our policies are failing to meet the Chinese challenge, it is important to realize the complete context of what China is presently doing, both around the world and at home: laying the foundation for their global dominance for the foreseeable future." My thoughts on China in the Harvard International Review here.
- "Want a skilled workforce and an education policy that looks after all Americans? Don’t forgive all student debt: focus on 'Training for a Lifetime' for the 65% of Americans who don’t have a college degree." -- my op-ed in the Nashua Telegraph here.
- "Fighting climate change is vital to our national security, but we need to convene the world to do it." -- my op-ed on climate change in the Washington Examiner here.
- "Why America needs an accountable President again." -- my op-ed on accountable leadership in Fortune here.
- "We need to get ‘The People’s Bureau’ back into fighting shape." -- my piece on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the Allentown Morning Call here.
- "As we deal with the rise of China on the world stage, along with other autocratic regimes like Russia and non-state actors like ISIS, we must invest in controlling transformative warfare as we have done in the past." -- my piece on defense reform in the Newark Star-Ledger here.
- "I believe we need to be accountable to Native American citizens of these United States – not only for the debt we owe them for their service today, but for the injustices throughout our nation’s history that we are still struggling to mend." -- my op-ed on Native Americans in Indian Country Today here.
- "Having served in the military, I know that militaries can stop a problem, but they can’t fix a problem. This is why I supported the Iran nuclear accord, and still support it today as the best framework for maintaining peace and security for us and our allies." -- my op-ed on Iran in the Des Moines Register here.
- "My Presidential Campaign In One Word? Accountability." -- my opinion piece on accountable leadership in the Daily Caller here.
- And look out for "A win-win-win for rural America" -- my piece on how to help rural communities, coming out in the Des Moines Register on December 4th.
Now, we must have a leader who is accountable to people and therefore can unite our country so we can advance our policies without executive orders that a follow-on President will just “rip out.”
Warmest regards and Happy Thanksgiving, Joe
