Thank you to everyone who’s already signed up to our virtual race and move-a-thon, Run for Survival ([link removed]) . It’s happening in just under a month’s time, between May 27 - 29, so there’s still time to sign up ([link removed]) and get training! You can run a 5k, 10k, or half-marathon, or move in any way that feels right for you. Supporters have told us they’re organizing community football games, running yoga workshops and hosting ping pong tournaments.

Participants will receive a bundle of Survival goodies, and on Sunday 8 May, we're hosting an exclusive event for our runners and movers ([link removed]) - a conversation with Juan Carlos Rulfo, the director of Lorena, Light-Footed Woman ([link removed]) . This half-hour documentary, available on Netflix ([link removed]) , follows the footsteps of Lorena Ramírez, a young Indigenous woman from the Raramuri people (Tarahumara in Spanish), who lives in northern Mexico.

Lorena rose to fame in 2017, at the age of 22, when she won a 60km race wearing her traditional garb – a dress and sandals. The film shines a stunning spotlight on Lorena’s journey and the ways of life of the Raramuri, for whom running plays an essential role.

PS We just learned that a network of Facebook accounts that attacked Survival's campaigns were actually set up by Brazilian military agents. We really can’t think of a better tribute to the fantastic work you, our supporters, have been doing to make noise on social media and #StopBrazilsGenocide!
