Dear John,

On this day focused on giving thanks, I’m overwhelmed by the things that make me grateful. I am fortunate to have a job I love: leading the Wilson Center — a place where ideas come alive, where dialogue and conversation help illuminate the planet’s most vexing problems, and where the world and Washington meet.

Each day, I’m surrounded by scholars and staff working to make this world safer, better, and more sustainable. We’re constantly exploring new ways to bring our outstanding nonpartisan research to diverse audiences, so that decision-makers — whether in the U.S. or around the world — have access to world-class expertise to make informed policy decisions.

Your continued support of the Wilson Center makes that all possible.

It means we can invest in scholarship about the key countries and regions. It means we can research and develop ideas on national security, global cooperation, disinformation and any one of dozens of major issues. And, vitally, especially at a fractured political moment, it means continuing to bring together officials, thought leaders, and stakeholders from across party lines and around the world to discuss ideas civilly and with mutual respect.

From all of us at the Wilson Center to all of you…Happy Thanksgiving!

In gratitude,

Jane Harman
Wilson Center Director, President, and CEO
