When We All Vote [[link removed]]
Hi John,
Like you, we are still processing the news from last night’s upsetting news. We’re sure you’ve heard by now that a leaked draft opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court case stated it would overturn Roe v. Wade.
This unprecedented move from the Court could allow state lawmakers to take away women's rights to make decisions about their body and their healthcare. We know that 13 states will see extreme anti-abortion laws go into effect immediately if the court officially overturns Roe v. Wade, and we know more could follow.
To be clear, this opinion is a draft and the right to access an abortion remains the law of the land for now. But we know that the official decision could come down from the Supreme Court very soon.
While this isn’t a surprise, the draft opinion is a devastating affirmation of our very real fear of a hyper-partisan Supreme Court. In fact, we’ve already seen the Court and state lawmakers across the country make it harder for us to vote in our elections. We must remember that 96% of elected officials in our local governments make decisions about our access to healthcare, how our communities are policed, the judges in our courts, and more.
Today, we are working to mobilize our teams at When We All Vote and the United State of Women and volunteers like you across the country. Here are three ways you can take action with us right now:
1.
Visit the United State of Women’s Reproductive Justice Hub to donate to local abortion funds and sign the pledge to become an abortion advocate. The United State of Women (USOW) is an initiative of Civic Nation, just like When We All Vote.

2. Register to vote or check your voter registration. It's more important than ever that we all participate in the political process. You can start by checking your own voter registration and making sure you’re registered to vote here.

3. Support the United State of Women during this critical moment. The United State of Women works alongside local and national partners across the country to amplify this issue to all Americans. We’ll be back in touch with more updates soon.
