RNC Statement on SCOTUS Leak
WASHINGTON -- Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court leak:

“The leak from the Supreme Court is extremely alarming and the Court deserves to deliberate without intimidation. Democrats are showing once again how extreme they really are on abortion, pushing taxpayer-funded, on demand, and unlimited abortion up until the moment of birth and after. Their position on abortion is radical, cruel, and anti-science. The far left wants unelected judges to impose a radical, one-size fits all abortion policy, leaving Americans without a voice. The Republican Party will always stand for the sanctity of life, speak up for the unborn, and protect vulnerable mothers.”

Background:
* This draft opinion leak is unprecedented and a threat to the security of the Supreme Court’s independence.
+ Legal scholars have said the stunning leak ([link removed]) shouldn’t have happened.
* Polling has shown the majority of Americans support limits on abortion.
+ 71 percent ([link removed]) of Americans want significant limits on abortion.
+ 77 percent ([link removed]) of voters’ support legislation banning infanticide.
+ 80 percent ([link removed]) of Americans believe that third trimester abortions should be illegal.
* Since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, modern medicine has made significant advancements.
* Democrat politicians have rejected what science tells us and have embraced radical abortion policies that are completely detached from the American mainstream.
+ Many Democrats favor using taxpayer dollars to fund late-term abortions.
+ Polls consistently show that Americans do not want the federal government to fund abortion:
o 54% of Americans back the Hyde Amendment ([link removed]) , including 53% of independents ([link removed]) and 29% of Democrats.
+ Recently, Democrats tried to abandon decades of bipartisan consensus by not including the Hyde Amendment ([link removed]) , which prevents taxpayer dollars from funding abortion, in their tax-and-spend “Build Back Broke” agenda.
o After decades of supporting it, Biden now opposes the Hyde Amendment, and pushed for its removal in his budget.
+ Democrats have refused to back ([link removed]) any limits on abortion, including up to the moment of birth and after ([link removed]) .
o Arizona Democrat Katie Hobbs refused ([link removed]) to name a single restriction on abortion that she’d support up to birth.
o Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman said ([link removed]) there are no limits on abortion that he would find appropriate.
+ Democrats even blocked legislation ([link removed]) banning infanticide.
* Life is precious and worth defending. Democrats are fighting to force their radical abortion agenda on all Americans – Republicans are fighting to stop them.
+ The pro-life movement speaks up for both lives that are at stake during an abortion – the vulnerable mother and the unborn child.
+ The pro-life movement advocates for vulnerable mothers to choose life and has supported adoption, foster care, and faith-based adoption services.
+ There are over 2,700 pro-life pregnancy centers that serve pregnant mothers ([link removed]) by providing baby supplies, classes, food, and more.
