Dear John,

We were devastated to learn of the draft SCOTUS decision that would overturn the precedent set in Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey and immediately ban abortion in some states and threaten abortion access in others.

Though unsurprising, it doesn’t make the potential impact any less disastrous. Or heartbreaking.

We know what this means for people’s lives and the communities we care about and serve. As a staff we came together to breathe, to hold space, and collect our thoughts. Feelings of anger, sadness, and disappointment were expressed, but also tremendous determination and resolve.

The Ms. Foundation team is more committed than ever and we know that there is no greater time to follow the leadership of those on the ground. This is not just a women’s issue - our liberation is bound together. We will never get to full gender equality if we do not have full bodily autonomy.
