Folks, Last night, news broke about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The news, though expected, still sent a resounding shock around the country. The fight for abortion access is personal to me. I have always believed that a woman shouldn’t be punished for exercising her rights, nor should healthcare providers for helping her do so. One of my sisters is an OB/GYN. My father spent 50 years as an OB/GYN. Until recently, he helped Planned Parenthood train their next generation of care providers. Individuals, not the government, should be making this most personal and challenging decision. We don’t need new laws that punish women; we need to make adoptions easier, support children better, and respect the freedom of every private citizen. If you agree, chip in $30 now to get me to Congress! This issue has torn us apart since Roe v. Wade became the land law in 1973. A woman should have the right to her body, full stop. Every American should feel protected by the law. I promise to protect every citizen and their rights once I get to Congress in November.
