John, 

By now, you’ve seen the SCOTUS draft opinion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, which purportedly reveals the Court's plans to overturn Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. We are appalled that the highest court in our nation is poised to strip away access to reproductive rights and endanger millions of lives. But we are not surprised.

Because Republicans have been relentlessly attacking our fundamental rights for years, and now we have reached a collective tipping point. As it stands, about half of the states are set to immediately restrict abortion if this opinion is made official. 

That’s why we must rapidly build our defenses to protect the most vulnerable among us. That means urgently electing Democratic women to state legislatures, city councils, in district attorney offices, judgeships, and other positions that can stand against the dangerous extremist policies that threaten our rights. 

Emerge is committed to reaching, training, and supporting grassroots champions from our communities to run for these offices and win. Because we’re committed to protecting our community and winning the future we deserve – and we refuse to let Republicans steal that future from us.
