John, this is an emergency.

Last night, a leaked Supreme Court opinion draft written by Justice Samuel Alito revealed that the court has voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. While the final decision may not come for weeks or months, we must take action NOW.

If this decision is finalized, the right to an abortion will no longer be federally protected and will fall under state jurisdiction. What that means is Republican governors and legislatures will be free to pass new laws cracking down on abortion rights, and 22 states — including Missouri — already have laws on the books to ban abortion.

We need to take action ourselves — together, we need to show up for our neighbors no matter how hard or scary it gets. We need our movement to come together to protect abortion access for everyone, but especially Black, brown, low-income, queer, and young folks who are disproportionately harmed by abortion bans.

There is currently only one abortion clinic left in the entire state of Missouri. Groups like the Missouri Abortion Fund are working to make sure anyone who needs reproductive health care in Missouri can travel to this clinic or out of state. They urgently need our help to prepare for this upcoming Supreme Court decision.
