The Supreme Court is going to overrule Roe v. Wade and decimate the right to abortion in the United States. With this ruling, the Supreme Court is allowing state legislatures to further restrict, ban and criminalize abortion. This decision is an unconscionable rollback of fundamental rights for all people in the U.S. Every person deserves the right to make decisions about their body, their health, their economic independence, their safety, and their future.

Thanks to the hard work of Cobalt, COLOR, Planned Parenthood, and many others, abortion care is still legal in Colorado. But the Supreme Court’s decision will embolden anti-choice politicians to push for a total nationwide ban on abortion. With our rights at risk, it has never been more important for the citizens of the United States to have access to the ballot box.
We cannot go back, and we cannot stand by as the fundamental rights of so many are stripped away. I am proud that Colorado passed the Reproductive Health Equity Act and urge states across the country and Congress to do the same. I am still standing with you in solidarity, and as long as there are people like you, there will always be hope.
