A new draft opinion published last night confirmed that the ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court is planning to overturn Roe v. Wade.
This news is a gut punch.
We knew that Roe was on the chopping block – it’s one of the reasons why I and dozens of other women ran for Congress in 2018. And now, this leaked news confirms that our worst fears are on the brink of becoming a reality.
If this opinion is officially released, tens of millions of women will lose access to lifesaving reproductive care – even if they’re the victims of rape or incest.
We need the Women’s Health Protection Act. We need the Equal Rights Amendment. We need to mobilize for our lives. And we need to let SCOTUS know that we will not stand idly by as they strip Americans of the right to decide what to do with their own bodies.
