Late last night America was shocked to learn that a leaked draft opinion from the US Supreme Court indicated what we’ve all been fearing for months: the downfall of Roe v. Wade is imminent. 

Like so many women I know, I feel like I’ve had the wind knocked out of me. It’s hard to process the historic nature of what is happening - the conservative US Supreme Court is throwing out a law that has stood for 50 years. This is deeply concerning for women and families across America.

If and when Roe is overturned, you can be certain it will only be a matter of time before Governor McMaster and the Republican legislature ban all abortions in South Carolina. Defeating McMaster and his anti-woman agenda has truly never been more important. 

Our June 14th Democratic Primary just became the most important fight for women’s rights in South Carolina, and my track record of leading on this issue proves I’m the woman for the job. Can I count on you to rush a donation to help me defeat McMaster and show the GOP that we will always stand up for legal access to abortion in South Carolina?

We need a Governor who is unwavering in her support of access to legal abortions. I have repeatedly stood up against Republicans trying to tell women what we can and cannot do with our bodies. Electing a pro-choice Governor is the only way that we can help protect the right of every woman in this state to make decisions about her own health care.
