Hi Friend,

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas just told asylum seekers who flee persecution and risk their lives to come to the United States: “Do not come.”

Asylum seekers, like our LGBTQ and HIV-positive clients, have a right to ask for protection at the border, but both the Trump and Biden administrations have blocked them from doing so under Title 42 for two years.

Then, just when advocates successfully pushed the administration to lift the Trump-era policy in May, Congress threatened to block funding for coronavirus prevention until this cruel policy is extended.

Sign the petition! Tell Congress that rejecting asylum seekers is immoral, illegal, and must stop immediately.

Shamefully, the United States has used Title 42 to expel more than 1.7 million migrants and asylum seekers in the last two years.

Thousands of asylum seekers have been kidnapped, raped, and tortured in Mexico after being blocked from applying for asylum.

Ending the Title 42 expulsion policy at our border is a critical step in rebuilding a just asylum system.

We must stop administration officials, numerous states, and members of Congress who are fighting to keep this unconscionable policy in place.

Add your name today! Tell Congress to end the Trump-era Title 42 expulsion policy right away.
