Women, transgender and nonbinary individuals — anyone who can become pregnant — should have the right to decide whether and when to have children.

Last night, when I learned of the Supreme Court’s BREAKING leaked draft majority opinion to strike down Roe v. Wade, I was appalled. This is an egregious attack on women’s rights.

If Roe v. Wade was to be overturned, the federal constitutional protection of abortion rights would no longer exist. This leaves the legality of abortion to rest in the hands of state officials across the U.S., many of whom will never have to face this decision themselves.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of maintaining leadership in our state that will champion reproductive rights for all.

I stand with women and all people who need reproductive healthcare and their right to make their own healthcare choices. Limiting abortion access does not stop abortions, it just limits access to safe abortions. It's dangerous.

When I make it to the Nevada Lieutenant Governor’s office, I will do everything in my power to protect reproductive freedom. But for right now, in this moment, I am joining with other pro-choice activists and advocates to raise awareness on the need to protect Roe v.
