Last night, a draft opinion from Justice Samuel Alito leaked, showing that the Supreme Court’s conservative majority is planning to overturn people’s constitutional right to an abortion as established in Roe v. Wade and affirmed in Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

The draft decision not only attacks people’s reproductive freedom, but also opens the door for the Supreme Court to overturn other important decisions. Griswold v. Connecticut established the constitutional right to access to birth control, Obergefell v. Hodges established the constitutional right to marriage equality, and Lawrence v. Texas which established the constitutional right to consensual same-sex relationships. Each of these decisions are on the line if the Supreme Court overturns Roe.

Make no mistake: This is the result of Republicans’ decades-long fight to install hyper-partisan judges on every level of our courts.

The decision is not final, and Roe remains the law of the land, but the time to act is now.

Lawmakers must take extraordinary steps to correct for the Supreme Court’s increasingly lawless and hyper-partisan conservative majority to protect people’s constitutional right to abortion, marriage equality, access to birth control, and interracial marriage. They must end the filibuster to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA), and take back our courts by filling every vacancy by 2023 and expand the Supreme Court.

Here’s what you can do:

Express your dissent TODAY at 5pm local time by turning out to your local Federal Court. You can look up where your closest Federal Court House is here.
Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to fill every vacancy, expand the court, and abolish the filibuster to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act!
