The United States is on the verge of denying a woman’s right to control her own body.
Last night, a drafted majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito leaked to the public. It clearly stated how the Court’s conservative majority plans to address the growing attack on reproductive rights: by overturning the landmark 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade which protected a woman’s right to choose.
This draft opinion is shocking, devastating, and a blatant assault on reproductive rights. Congress must act immediately to codify Roe v. Wade and stand up for reproductive rights.

Every person has the right to their own bodily autonomy. Terminating a pregnancy is one of the most emotionally fraught decisions a woman may make, and it is one that should never involve interference from politicians. By enshrining reproductive rights in law on the federal level, Congress can ensure that the right to choose remains solely with those whose lives are at stake.
