We don’t need to wait for the leaked information from last night to be fully official. We know that the GOP has been working towards this moment and it looks like they have effectively gamed the system and the Supreme Court has now voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.
I don’t need to tell you how heinous this is. I don’t need to tell you the millions of people who will suffer. I don’t need to tell you how, in 2022, it is once again confirmed that, in the eyes of Republicans, women don’t have autonomy over their health and bodies.
It is despicable. It is reprehensible. And it will not stand!
The stakes are continuing to rise and it is clear that without a doubt Democrats need to maintain their majority in the House. The House has already passed the Women's Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe v. Wade. Let me be clear: If the Supreme Court overturns decades of precedent, our last recourse is to pass this act through the House AND the Senate.
Today marks exactly TWO weeks out from Primary Day in Pennsylvania. That means in a few short weeks we will officially be in general election mode and up against the GOP trying to flip our state (and district) from blue to red. It’s up to us to stop them. Donate now.
I know they will not succeed – I have faith in our grassroots movement. If you are angry at the news coming out of D.C., know you are not alone. I am right there with you and promise I will give it my all – every day – to be strong representation for our shared values in Congress.
Everything is a lot right now. I know it is tempting to turn away and disengage, but this is when we really need to stay together and dig deep. Here are a few things to do right now:
- If you are in Pennsylvania and were mailed a ballot, it is time to complete it and return. You can find everything you need to know about the process here.
- We are making the most of every day from now until Election Day. If you didn't have a chance to give before our Saturday deadline, there is still time. Donate now.
Thanks again for all your support and I promise to NEVER give up the fight.
